Aim of the subject:
The aim of the course is to provide the basics of theoretical ecology and human ecology. By so the course strengthens the ecological attitude of students and creates strong foundation for the subsequent practical environmental engineering courses. Students will get insight into basic ecological concepts, into core processes of populations and communities, and into natural energy and material flows. The human ecology session aims to introduce the inkage of social and ecological systems, the anthropogenic transformation of the biosphere, the inherent nature of major environmental and ecological problems, and the causes and consequences of envirnomental transformation.
