Aim of the subject:
This course focuses on the potential of porous materials in materials science, environmental, and biomedical areas (natural and artificial systems). General characterisation of such materials (classification, static and dynamic characterisation methods, permeability, size dependent features, etc.) Practical examples about their application in fluid separation (both gas and liquid phase), energy storage (gas storage, electrochemical devices), biomedical application (artificial bones, scaffolding, haemoperfusion, etc.)
