Aim of the subject:
The subject gives an overview about human pathogen bacteria, fungi and parasites. The most frequent causative agents of the infectious diseases are discussed considering the Hungarian epidemiological relationship. The most important aspects: taxonomy (classification), morphology, antigenic properties, virulence factors, culture conditions of microorganisms, as well as principles of the pathogenesis and pathomechanism. Some newly discovered pathogens and old pathogens associated with new diseases are also discussed, as well as a brief overview of the possibilities of prevention of infections caused by various microbes.
