Aim of the subject:

Aim of the subject is the introduction of the student to the current questions of human virology. After an overview about the structure, chemical compounds and replication of the viruses, the theory of the viral diagnostics will be presented. The most important methods will be shown in the lab. Under „Detailed virology” topic the significance, the spread and other properties of the viruses, the viral diseases, and the prevention of these diseases will be reviewed. Special attention will be paid to newly discovered viruses and the viruses with great epidemiological significance.
