Subject is based on:

Basics of general, inorganic and organic chemistry, background in classical and instrumental analytical methods.

Aim of the subject:

The course aims to provide a theoretical and practical knowledge in the analysis of air, water and soil contaminants. The students will acquire knowledge about the most important environmental air, water and soil contaminants and their maximum allowable concentrations setup by the authorities. During the lectures the students will learn the most up-to-date sampling and analytical measurement techniques. In connection with this they will learn how to interpret the results of analytical measurements.

During the lab practicals the students will be familiarized with the basic rules of sampling from natural waters and analyse certain sample components in the lab.
