Aim of the subject:
The subject would cover the preparation and synthetic transformations of crown ethers, cryptands, calixarenes, spherands, cyclophanes, cyclodextrines, catenanes, rotaxanes and other macrocycles and also the molecular recognition ability of these hosts molecules for cations, anions and neutral guest compounds. Inside the molecular recognition, enantiomeric recognition would also be discussed and other new trends of supramolecular chemistry would additionally be treated.
